| Traces for videos encoded with H.264/AVC and H.264 SVC are now available. H.264 AVC and H.264 SVC represent the latest advances in video compression achieving typically over twice the compression ratios of MPEG-4 Part 2. That is, for the same video quality, the average bit rate of an H.264/AVC or H.264 SVC encoding is typically half of the average bit rate of the corresponding MPEG-4 Part 2 encoding. This improvement in compression efficiency with H.264/AVC and H. 264 SVC comes at the expense of substantially increased traffic variabilities in the encoded video streams.
